Theoretical round. Problems to solve · 10 ноември 2006 г.
Бележка
Maybe not all problems have correct questions. Some questions (maybe the main question of the problem, maybe one of the subquestions) may have no real sense. In this case you have to write in your answer (in English or Russian): «situation is impossible – ситуация невозможна». Of course, this answer has to be explained numerically or logically.
Source annotations
Printed source inconsistencies are retained: the English telescope key repeats Δx_m on the right of its displacement identity; the galaxy key uses both1.89×10⁻³ and1.86×10⁻³rad; the alpha eccentricity ratio has a sign inconsistency before the later positive0.07 result. The English polar key prints71°06′N/72°48′S; the Russian copy has handwritten70°06′N/71°48′S. No scientific correction has been silently substituted.
Условие
On the observational round you will use a simple Newton-system telescope with the mirror diameter mm, focal length mm and 3 eye-pieces with focal lengths mm, mm and mm. Find on what distances (, , in vertical direction on the middle figure) it is necessary to move the corresponding eye-pieces (1,2,3) to readjust the telescope from observation of the sky objects to observation of a monkey sitting at a distance m from you. (Your answer should have both formula and numerical values.) What eyepiece is the most suitable for observation of the monkey? Why?

Решение
Sky objects: , .
Monkey: , .
The answer does not depend on the focal lengths of the eye-piece, i.e.
The eye-piece with the largest focal length is the most suitable for observation of the monkey. The magnification factors are , for mm, mm and mm, which means that , 41 and 26.9 respectively. So the effective distance of observing the monkey is , 59 cm, 122 cm and 186 cm respectively. If you remember the field of view of any usual telescope and the size of a monkey, it would be evident that even for mm it is too difficult to observe the whole monkey to say nothing about mm and mm. So mm is the most suitable eye-piece among those that we have.
