Условие
Which of the following stars is almost always never visible to observers in the Northern hemisphere?
A. Alpha Aurigae
B. Gamma Cygni
C. Alpha Lyrae
D. Sigma Octantis
E. Beta Orionis
Отговори
- Sigma Octantis
Решение
Solution: D: Sigma Octantis
For a star to almost always never be visible to observers in the Northern hemisphere, it would have to be close to the southern celestial pole (e.g. An observer at North could see stars outside of the range 85-90 South). Sigma Octantis is widely accepted as the southern pole star.
