Условие
A new postal service is established. A huge cannon shots a postal shell from England to New Zealand. Estimate the duration of the shell's flight.
Решение
England and New Zealand are located on opposite points of the Earth. Therefore the shell's trajectory will be close to half of the minimal circular orbit of an artificial Earth satellite which duration is 1.5 h («Gagarin flight»). Therefore the ballistic flight of the postal shell takes about 45 min.
