Условие

Two blocks of masses mm and 3m3m bound by a massless string with a spring being compressed between them are placed on a frictionless horizontal surface as shown in the figure (a) below. When the string is cut as shown in figure (b), what will the speed of the mass mm be?

Panel a, Before: blocks m and 3m on a surface with a compressed spring between them, tied by a string. Panel b, After: the string is cut, block m moves left with velocity v (arrow) and block 3m moves right at 2.00 m/s.

The answer should be given in the SI units unless otherwise stated. If the numerical result turns out to be an integer, it should be given as the answer. Otherwise round the result to the first decimal.
