Бележки от източника
The supplied key refers to a drawing for problem 2 but contains none. The B4 key prints “5 parameters” before concluding 16; the printed wording is retained. The printed B5 formula V_per·a(1−e)/2 and its numerical results are retained without correction.
Условие
By a medium-size telescope, it is possible to detect an asteroid from the main asteroid belt down to a size of 5 km. Down to what size can objects of the Kuiper belt be registered by the same telescope using the same methods? You should remember by heart all the necessary properties and data of asteroids of the main belt and Kuiper belt. Consider the physical composition of the objects similar to Mars and Pluto respectively.

The same intensity of light should be registered by the telescope form the asteroid of the main asteroid belt with size km and unknown yet asteroid of the Kuiper belt. The following aspects should be taken into account:
- R. Distance from the Sun: 2.8 a.u. for the asteroid of the main belt and about 40 a.u. for the asteroid of the Kuiper belt. The intensity of light coming to the asteroids is reverse proportional to the square of these distances.
- D. Size (diameter) of the body. The intensity of light reflecting by the body is proportional to the square of these sizes.
- . Albedo. Albedo of Mars is about 0.15 and one of Pluto is 0.65. The intensity of light reflecting by the body is proportional to the albedos.
- L. Distance from the observer (i.e. from the Earth): 1.8 a.u. for the asteroid of the main belt (in opposition) and about 40 a.u. for asteroid of Kuiper belt. The intensity of light coming to the telescope is reverse proportional to the square of these distances.
So . And for we have to write:
