Бележки от източника
The supplied key refers to a drawing for problem 2 but contains none. The B4 key prints “5 parameters” before concluding 16; the printed wording is retained. The printed B5 formula V_per·a(1−e)/2 and its numerical results are retained without correction.
Условие
Estimate the orbital speed of Mars during Great oppositions with Earth. The orbital speed of Earth is km/s. The eccentricities of the orbits of the Earth and Mars are and respectively and the mean distance from the Sun to Mars is equal to a.u.
Решение
Using the III Kepler law () one can find that for the circular speed the following relation is valid:
and so:
It means that the circular speed () for Mars orbit is smaller than one () for Earth orbit.
During the Great oppositions Mars is near the perihelion of its orbit.
Using the II Kepler law one may also write (for the orbits with small eccentricities – see note*):
where and – the mean distance from the Sun to Mars and its mean orbital speed. So
(*) More accurate using of the II Kepler law here is
where and are the semiaxes of the orbit, .
In this case the answer is
